A man suffered a leg injury when he fell from his mountain bike while riding down a Peak District trail known as "The Beast".

Edale Mountain Rescue Team (EMRT) volunteers said they were called to the trail close to Ladybower Reservoir, near Edale in Derbyshire, at 16:45 BST on Saturday.

The rider was given pain relief and his leg was splinted.

The man was then moved to Green Bridge where he was passed into the care of paramedics.

East Midlands Ambulance Service said the rider was taken to Sheffield Northern General Hospital for further treatment.
